Pass Christian Neighbor Initiative (PCNI) is a local, community-led effort to meet urgent needs and build long-term opportunity. We focus on food security, safe housing, and education & workforce pathways—delivered with dignity and in partnership with neighbors, churches, and civic groups.

Fortified Roof
Assistance
The Pass Christian Neighborhood Initiative works directly within Pass Christian neighborhoods to help eligible homeowners navigate and afford the installation of IBHS FORTIFIED Roof™ systems. PCNI assists residents with state and federal mitigation grant applications, contractor coordination, and financial support for costs not covered by grant programs or insurance discounts—delivering practical, measurable impact by strengthening homes against future storms and reducing long-term recovery costs for the community.
Minor Home &
Automotive Repair
PCNI assists neighbors with essential small repairs—both around the home and for personal vehicles—so residents can stay safe, mobile, and self-sufficient. This includes things like basic household fixes, simple electrical or plumbing problems, minor exterior repairs, battery replacements, tire assistance, and other quick fixes that can make a big difference.

PCNI has demonstrated meaningful impact through its fortified roofing efforts in Pass Christian:
2024–2025 Projects
Over $330,000 in total roof repair costs supported
Approximately $290,000 in grant reimbursements secured
Projects completed in partnership with licensed local contractors and financial intermediaries
Direct assistance to homeowners who would otherwise be unable to afford critical roof upgrades
2026 Projects Pending
8 additional Pass Christian homes included in current applications
Over $120,000 in projected roof repair investments pending approval
Grant programs designed to reimburse up to $17,000 per qualifying home
